Hello everyone! We sat down with fitness and nutrition expert Kristi Data to see what her secrets are for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
What got you into health and fitness?
I have played organized sports since I was about 8 years old. Soccer, basketball, and fell in love with volleyball in the 7th grade.
What’s your typical workout routine?
It depends on what I am training for or frankly what I am in the mood to do. It ranges from weight lifting, indoor spin classes, boxing, Bootcamp classes, or the occasional outdoor run.
Does it drive you crazy when you don’t get to exercise?
Yes it does! I feel like working out and exercise is my "me' time, and I do some of my best stress relief and thinking then.
What’s your favorite pre and post workout snack (besides GoMix)?
I very rarely eat before a workout, but if I do I usually take a beet juice and celery based drink to open up the blood vessels, and also a plant based little energy drink (raspberry is my favorite). Post workout I usually make my "Wonder Woman" shake which consists of 1 scoop of plain whey protein (chocolate), 1 scoop of Cleanse for Life, 1 Scoop of Ioinix (adaptogenic herbs) and 1 scoop of AMPED Recover (BCAAs). Immediately feel better and starts the recovery process right away.
What do you consider workout heaven?
For me it's Soul Cycle! For 45 minutes I am the most connected to me, amazing music, killer workout, and incredible energetic messaging throughout the class. I highly recommend this to everyone!!!
What do you consider workout hell?
Oh boy, my fitness competition/posing coach created this insane HIIT that just crushes you!
What’s your favorite food?
I love eggplant parmesan, carrot cake is my favorite dessert (those are my cheats). I am a huge fish lover, sweet potatoes, any green veggie, and totally addicted to nut butter.
Any health and fitness tips?
Yes stay hydrated! Often times when we think we are hungry our body is actually thirsty! I usually drink a gallon a day, and also avoid processed foods with ingredients that you can't pronounce. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store. Most of the processed unhealthy stuff is in the middle of stores.
